Description:
With the botanical name Zanthoxylum armatum, the Winged Prickly Ash tree is a member of the Citrus family Rutaceae. Tomar tree is indigenous to Eastern Asia to China along the Himalayas and few other parts of India. The essential oil is extracted from the seeds of this tree through steam distillation method. The naturally spicy, warm, woody, peppery, rich and floral aroma has made its use remarkable since the pre-historic period.
Common Use:
In natural perfumery it is used effectively in apothecary perfumes, woody-floral compositions, incense perfumes, spicy colognes, forest notes, high class florals.It is also used in tobacco industries and aromatherapy. The seeds and the bark are used as an aromatic tonic in the treatment of fevers, dyspepsia and cholera. The fruits, branches and thorns are considered to be carminative and stomachic they are used as a remedy for toothache
