Description:
Fenugreek is truly a natural source of Sapogenins (diosgenin) and soluble nutritional fiber. Its botanical name is Trigonella foenum graecum. It is also known as Greek Hay-seed, Methi and Bird’s Foot. Fenugreek oleoresin is derived from the dried ripe seeds of the Fenugreek plant. Fenugreek seeds contain 20% of mucilaginous fiber out of its total 50 % fiber. However, its oleoresin does not have any fiber content in it.
Common Use:
As the Fenugreek oleoresin contains much essential oil so it is widelyused for the purpose of flavoring several food items. • It can also increase the flavor of butter, if used in it. • It is also used for increasing curry flavor. • This is mostly used for tobacco fragrance as well. • Fenugreek Oleoresins also gives maple flavor when used in syrups. • This is also used as laxative, diuretic, carminative, diuretic,stomachic, expectorant, stimulant and antiseptic.
