Description:

Patchouli Oil is extracted from the young leaves of Patchouli plants. Patchouli, which is also known by its botanical name Pogostemon cablin, belongs to mint family. This herb has erect stem that grows to two or three feet and has small flowers which are pale pink in color. The leaves of this plant are furry which are dried and fermented to get the Patchouli Oil through steam distillation process. The oil of Patchouli is thick and is dark brown in color. It is rich in aroma and has a sweet, musky, spicy and a strong herbaceous scent. Patchouli oil is used for its therapeutic properties.

Patchouli Oil has a soothing and calming effect.It is often used to fight depression, anxiety and lethargy.• Patchouli oil is a great fungicide, insecticide,antiseptic and can also be used over the skin area which is bitten by someinsect.• Patchouli Oil is also used in lotions and skincreams. History:

For centuries, patchouli oil has been used in the East to scent clothes and linen. In China, Japan and Malaysia the oil was used to treat colds, headaches, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain. In the 1960s, patchouli became popular as an aphrodisiac.
